Strava is $11.99 a month or $79.99 a year, prices the vendor’s own pricing page dates to 1 July 2025. Twelve monthly payments are $143.88 against $79.99 for the year — a $63.89 gap, the widest monthly penalty on this ledger in dollars and 1.8 times the annual price.
There is a genuine free plan underneath, which records activities and keeps your history. The subscription buys the analysis: segment leaderboards, route features, training tools.
The line item worth watching is the drift. In December 2025 Strava moved its Year in Sport recap, free to everyone since 2016, behind the subscription. Nothing about your bill changed that day. What changed is the definition of what the free plan is, which is the mechanism this desk exists to point at, and there is no clause anywhere that stops it happening again.
