Corrections
Everything we have got wrong and then fixed, with the date we fixed it. Nothing is edited out of this page.
Last revised
A price desk that never publishes a correction is not a careful price desk, it is one that doesn't check. Prices move without notice, vendors change a plan's contents without renaming it, and sometimes a person here simply reads the wrong row. When that happens the record is fixed and the fix is written down here, with a date.
We do not quietly edit a number and let the old one disappear. If a figure on this site was wrong for six weeks, this page will say it was wrong for six weeks.
The log
No corrections yet. This desk is new and the ledger is small, so read that as "not much has been published" rather than "nothing has been wrong". The first entry will appear here the day we need it, and this page is the first place we will put it.
Telling us something is wrong
Email corrections@theyearlybill.com. What helps most, in order:
- A renewal invoice or a card statement line. These are the hardest figures for us to get and the most useful ones we can publish. Redact whatever you like — we need the amount, the vendor and the date, nothing else.
- A screenshot of the checkout screen, with your country visible if you can. A lot of apparent errors turn out to be regional pricing, which is worth documenting in itself.
- The page and the row. Tell us which figure. We would rather fix the right one.
We read everything sent to that address. We do not reply to all of it, and we do not accept pitches, sponsored placements or requests to reconsider a price — the price is whatever it is.
What counts as a correction
A wrong price, a wrong renewal figure, a wrong description of a free tier, a wrong date, or a misattributed source. Those get logged. A price that changed after we checked it is not a correction — that is the market moving, and it shows up as a new checked date on the record rather than an entry here. The method page explains how often we go back and look.
