Vendor pricing page, proton.me/pass/pricing — the free plan, which is the only plan on that page that served us a readable price — read on 21 August 2026.
This record prices the free plan, because on 21 August 2026 it was the only Proton Pass plan whose price we could read. The plan itself is free with no expiry: the pricing page lists unlimited logins, notes and credit cards, unlimited devices, browser, mobile and desktop apps, a password generator, 10 hide-my-email aliases, alerts for weak and reused passwords and passkeys on all devices, under the line “No credit card required”. The product page puts it more bluntly: “No trials, just free forever.”
Pass Plus is real and it is paid. We are not printing a number for it, because the page did not give us one. Proton builds its price cards in the browser, and what the server actually sent was the placeholder: “$0.00” in the price slot and “undefined% off” in the discount badge.
That is a rendering bug, not a pricing scandal. But a price you cannot read is a price we cannot check.
Bitwarden Premium is $19.80 a year with no discount attached to it. 1Password's advertised price is a first-year rate, and the vendor's own footnote says so. Here is the ledger, the family-plan break-even, and the three prices we could not read at all.
