“Not published” means we did not find a renewal price stated by the vendor on the date we checked. It is not a claim that the price changes on renewal, and it is not a claim that it doesn’t.

This is the line on the ledger that is not really a streaming subscription. Prime Video is a benefit of an Amazon Prime membership, and the membership is $139.00 a year or $14.99 a month — a $40.88 saving for prepaying.

Two consequences worth stating. First, if you already pay for Prime for the shipping, the marginal cost of the video catalogue is zero, and it is the only entry here that can honestly claim that. Second, if you do not want the shipping, you are still paying for it: Amazon’s help page prices the membership, not the video.

Prime Video shows ads by default. Removing them is a separate charge, recorded on this ledger as Prime Video Ultra.

Amazon publishes discounted memberships for young adults and for recipients of certain government assistance. Those are eligibility-gated, so they are not the list price and are not the figure above.
